This play explores issues of control, manipulation and the abuse of power. The first scene opens with an idyllic loving relationship that quickly develops into an abusive cycle of punishment and reward. The woman taking on a victim’s role loses not only her respect but gradually her identity. The man manipulates her into becoming an object of his making and once she has totally acquiesced to all his demands he then rejects her. At this juncture she begins the long painful process of self-realisation and restoration of self.
